December 2008

I'm working on my New Year's resolutions. There are 2 resolutions that have been on my list forever. 1. Lose weight 2. Do a better job about writing and posting of pictures. Well, you guessed it, those are on my list again this year. So here goes the writing and posting of pictures.

December was quite the month. It began with Corbin having many, many choir performances. He sang at the Portland Trees of Christmas, Zoo lights, in front of Macy's, and had 2 school performances all in the matter of a week.

On December 11th we drove to Seattle to visit Uncle Brian, Aunt K, Caitlin and our Aunt Lindsay who flew in from Alabama for a few days. We hung out, shopped and even visited Santa Claus together. We were so happy to spend the weekend with her!

We woke up to snow in Seattle Sunday morning.

Little did we know the snow was going to lead to Portland requiring chains on all major roads and 14" of snow by Christmas. The kids missed 5 days of school, they were just a bit excited. On Friday the 19th, Aunt Sandy took the kids down to Springfiled to play with Grandma Dar Dar and Papa Bob for 4 days and nights. Aunt Sandy was suppose to come back on Monday, but Alli 'needed' her to stay longer. In trying to miss the next big storm coming, Grandma, Papa, Aunt, Corbin and Alli all drove to Portland on the 23rd instead of the 24th. It took Aunt 5.5 hours to go from Springfiled to Portland. (It usually only takes 2 hours.) eeeek!

On Christmas Eve the kids and I went out to build a snowman and sled down our hill. We had so much fun, but the snow began to melt.

The kids were wound up that night and had a hard time getting to sleep in anticipation of Christmas. Christmas morning came and by 5:50am we let Corbin and Alli out of bed to open presents. Christmas was a very nice and relaxing day. We had lots of fun playing with our new toys, naping, eating, watching movies, bonding and dressing Alli's dolls. We had a very nice Christmas dinner, with all the fixings at about 5pm.

All requested a photo shoot of her children (6 dolls) and herself. She had each of the dolls photographed, and then with their twin and then with herself. Yes, she is only 6! We're a bit curious about what the future holds for our little girl. Her children are Sean and Jon (twins), Elizabeth and Sara (Twins), Brianna and Rhianna. Rhianna was delivered by Santa this Christmas.

After that Alli found quite the attire... a tie dyed t-shirt, new sweater and a Hannah Montana Wig. And since she promised Grammy for a pic, here it is...

Tomorrow is the 26th and everyone will be heading back home to their own homes.

We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
